DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
Preparation
Participants are expected to have at least a basic Information Communication Technologies (ICT) user level. They will be requested to complete an online questionnaire about their personal and academic profile, as well as their expectations. They will be also asked to prepare and submit via the course training portal an e-Portfolio (eg. text files, photos, audio and video files) for a brief presentation about their home town/area (with cultural and educational material) to be used in a project during the training workshops. They will also have the opportunity (optional) to get to know their fellow course attendants and experience the role of the e-learner. Support will be available to the participants during this phase
Objectives
After the course participants should be able:
- To take advantage of OER in order to advance their learning and teaching experiences.
- To argue about copyright issues.
- To compare Free and Open Source Software and OER.
- To recognize the incentives to produce OER.
- To describe the differences between online and blended learning
- To use specific tools for collaboration.
- To improve skills to adapt new technologies for the classroom.
- To design sequences of learning activities and create web-based and blended courses
- To monitor and assess Learner’s progress in virtual learning environments
- To take advantage of cloud computing services for education.
- To develop and disseminate innovative pedagogical methods in using web based tools.
- To use open source tools to form educational communities and share e-portfolios (Mahara)
- To effectively use a new way of producing, obtaining and applying knowledge.
- To develop competences in designing and implementing blended learning courses.
Methodology
The course is based on the principles of Adult Education and Open & Distance learning. The course will follow a blended learning approach combining a face to face (F2F) five days workshops and collaborative learning, with e-learning preparation and follow-up session.
Follow-up
After the course there will be maintained contact with the participants. They will continue to have access to the course training portal and the support of a tutor. They will be also encouraged to continue to cooperate with each other, to share experiences, to produce and submit their own sequences of learning activities and sharing them through the establishment of an e-tutors community of practice

Day 2
- Learning Support Systems (LSS). Best Practices.

- Designing material for education (workshop).

Day 3
